Town of Huron is currently accepting applications for Assistant Building Inspector

This is a full-time position
Performs a variety of responsible, specialized, and technical work that includes substantial public
interaction. Administers and enforces building, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, fire codes and laws.
Administers and enforces Town Laws and Zoning Laws. Reviews and checks building plans and
specifications. Issues permits and collects fees. Inspects buildings in all stages of construction, alteration,
and repair. Responsible for inspecting new or existing residential and commercial buildings, structures,
premises, and operations for fire hazards and conformance with State and local codes. Performs
property maintenance inspections and responds to complaints among other duties assigned to the
office.

Minimum Qualifications:
-Computer literate, organized worker, self-starter
-Knowledge of or experience with building construction
-Must be able to pass training course to become a NYS Certified Code Official
-Must have NYS drivers license and dependable vehicle
Helpful Qualifications:

-Knowledge of the NYS Building Code.
-Knowledge of Town of Huron Laws and Zoning Law.
-Knowledge of waterfront properties
-Knowledge of septic systems

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Town of Huron Highway Department is
accepting applications for employment to fill a position of full-time highway employee
(Benefits Package).  The application shall include all relevant training, education and
experience in municipal winter and summer road maintenance and construction,
including certifications of proficiency and/or letters of recommendation, in particular
heavy and light construction equipment, construction methodologies, OSHA safety
training and/or certifications, and shall include licensing status for Class A or B CDL
applications.  The application available at Town Hall Town Clerk’s Office or at
( www.huronny.org ) under Departments and click on Employment Opportunities. Having
close proximity to the Huron Highway Barn is an important consideration.   Applications
